Top recruit daring OHSAA to suspend him

I think back to when I was in high school and all the coaching and high school sports involvement I have and I don't ever remember a kid whose #1 sport as football, ever not playing another sport because of wanting to solely focus on football. I can't say the same for other sports, but I can now...

I'm not a fan of fall ball, but that is a great point

Top recruit daring OHSAA to suspend him

This 7 on 7 nonsense will do nothing but harm middle sized and small school sport further. There will be cases of schools losing their second best outfielder or infielder because he has been brain washed into thinking playing 7 on 7 will lead him to scholarship that will likely never happen...

Top recruit daring OHSAA to suspend him

Ohio is not a mega school state, we are a state made up of small school districts. Our d1 schools are probably big medium sized schools in most southern states. In NC our d 3 and 4 schools would be in the smallest division. And down there at over 50% of those school spring ball is pointless...

Average Tenure of Head Football Coach

The irony of this example is the science, math and even P.E have to take some of the same high level prerequisite classes as the pharmacist and premed and the certification test we had to teach were no joke either.

Youngest head coaches in the state?

They passed that in a attempt to water down the quality of teachers in state , to push private schools, vouchers, etc and to weaken Ohio teachers union overall. Republicans in this state are playing the long game in trying to make us like the south, if you lower the standards of the overall...

Youngest head coaches in the state?

And yet you go up throughout the state there are teacher RIFs occurring and 10 plus applicants for most teaching jobs. The big city schools may have openings but not majority of school districts in Ohio who are struggling to pass levies, etc. I would'nt call it a shortage but a surplus of bad...

Youngest head coaches in the state?

It's not struggling in Ohio (especially teaching), there is a just a compensation problem in coaching. I really don't care its not a hill I am willing to die on (referring to my 25 to teach). I played professionally (NFL/AFL) for a couple years and basically had to rewire my entire brain and how...

Youngest head coaches in the state?

His old man is the DC (who basically ran the team last year) and his entire extended family was the staff the last couple of years, he will be fine. But I do agree, todays age of social media, etc teachers and coaches need to be a minimum of 25. I think about my first coordinator job when I was...

I would guess Teaching Tenures in Ohio are a lot longer than the national average.

    Lake Levy Vote March 19

If you ever seen Super Size ME, the former Sec of Education was quoted in talking about taking away recess and P.E "we are going to have fat readers"

    Lake Levy Vote March 19

YOu don't want county districts, that is how the south is ran and its a mess, kids get lost in the shuffle especially transitioning schools and the schools/districts are so big kids just get lost and passed along. County administrative positions are created and these people literally do nothing...

    Lake Levy Vote March 19

You can thank state politicians for that, the State of Ohio has basically eliminated the need for a high school P.E teacher, with childhood obesity not being an issue this has been a great idea.

    Lake Levy Vote March 19

I've said this in prior Levy threads- wait till its time for the Gen X and the Millennials to retire a levy will never pass anywhere in the State (outside of Dublin and Hudson type areas), they'll still be paying off their college loans and have no pensions. lol

IUDOGS: 2023 - 2024 Ohio High School Head Football Coaching Changes

Buckeye Centrals HC is the baseball coach as well, that place doesnt have much movement in teaching positions so its going to be hard if they want the new HC in school. It wouldn't surprise me if the former HC sticks it out one more year
