What's up with 145 ?

They checked in with multiple 145's, I am sure. At some point, I saw Hoffarth as the selected 145, but evidently he had to pull out.

Based on conversations I have had with people involved, the top wrestlers were contacted (or those reasonably close to the top, as in some cases there is "gray" in determining who the top one is). For those where the top senior is not attending, it is almost assuredly due to lack of interest, injury, or other commitment (NHSCA, vacation, whatever). Spring is always a tough time when it comes to engaging seniors in anything, as they have one foot off to college.

Ohio takes the dual w/ WPIAL in the @PWrClassic 23-18…winners for Ohio include:
C. Lang (Marysville) via 21-6 TF
M. Hermes (Edison) 10-4 dec (OW)
A. McBurney (MP) 3-2 dec
D. VanDyke (WJ) 6-4 dec
W. Denkins (PBurg) 2-1 TB1
M. Takats (PBurg) 3-1 OT
D. Russo (OL) 4-2 dec

How many matches would Ohio have won against USA team? I don't believe Ohio would've beaten the PA all star team either. Bucksman may have a better guess as to how many matches Ohio wins against PA all stars. I personally would've liked to have seen Ohio all stars vs PA all stars, instead of just the one PA district or area.

The better question is if the five wpial guys on the Pa team were on the wpial team how worse it would have been for ohio.💪

Then Ohio has to counter with Brock Herman,Joey Blaze, and Camden Mcdaniels. Not saying Ohio > PA in wrestling but apples to apples I'm sure they would compete.

That's what I'm talking about, the best that both states have vs each other. PA went toe to toe vs the USA team, every match was close save 1 and the girls match.

Blaze was supposed to be on Team USA, he could not…Herman and McDanel were both asked to be on Ohio and both declined…lots of kids declined for whatever reason…the kids who showed up represented Ohio well off the mat all weekend and on the mat Saturday…be nice if we could leave the focus on those boys (& Cali/Makennah), but we live in an age of negativity so here we are…
