At the beginning of year it looked like doom and gloom after he lost to Chumbley early. Chumbley is the #13 seed and just went up on #11 Saldate 4-3.

Anyone have a clue what the ref was doing at the end of the 1st with Smith getting the takedown but instead of calling it he was giving swipe signal as if there was going to be a call for being on the legs too long? Did I miss something? I got to the mat on the screen just as that was going on. He eventually signaled the TD with about 2 seconds left in the period. Took his sweet old time calling it though

Kharchla not the same guy as last year. I don't know if its the injuries or something else, but either way he's not even close to what he was last year. Gives up positions way too easy, and his body language is terrible. His face, his posture, almost looks like he doesn't even want to be out there. Tough to watch.

Injuries add up fast and ot sucks when your body can’t do what you’re used to it doing.

Sasso vs. Parco (Arizona State) - Sasso is the higher seed, Sasso won a tight match last year in the R16 at nationals

Mendez vs. Byrd (Illinois) - Byrd is the higher seed, Mendez won four-plus months ago on opening weekend of the season but Byrd placed higher at B1G
D'Emilio vs. Matthews (Pitt) - Matthews is the 3-seed, D'Emilio is seeded 17th, I think we'll see why tonight
Kharchla vs. Olejnik (Northern Illinois) - Kharchla is the higher seed, if he can't win here it would be majorly disappointing
E. Smith vs. O'Reilly (Minnesota) - Smith beat O'Reilly 5-3 for third at B1G and is the higher seed, if he can't win here it's a problem
Romero vs. Bonino (Drexel) - if Romero can't beat the 25th seed to AA then there's a problem.

Vito is the type of guy required to beat RBY. Fix is too similar in style to RBY but not as good in folk style. Vito keeps a high pace, takes ground, and hand fights. He reminds me of Nick Lee.
 
I also have to say, Rock Harrison has been great. I’ve disagreed with his rules analysis a few times but his passion and the way he breaks down what’s happening to a basic level is cool.
 
A tale of two wrestlers- both Mickey Phillippi and Max Murin had made the R12 three previous times before this year and both found themselves back in the bloodround this year. Murin wins, Phillippi loses. Phillippi becomes (I believe) first wrestler ever to lose four times in R12. The joy and agony of defeat
