What are you watching?

Werewolf By Night by Marvel was a lot of fun. A classic monster horror special straight out of the early days of film. Vamps, you'll love this I think.

She-Hulk, easily the best episode of the season, leading into the finale.

DareDevil for the win.
Sorry but I am just not feeling this show. On the positive I really like the lead but the rest of the cast is just meh, the biggest problem though is a very disjointed plot line with the breaking of the 3rd wall aspect having been done much better with other super hero shows. It also seems like they are throwing every #metoo grievance into the plot line of this thing, the latest being revenge porn.

It certainly isn't a show for everyone. It's probably the most polarizing and "risky" thing Marvel has done to date as far as straying away from what they normally do.

Regarding the 4th wall breaking, I think they have used it well in the show (a few episodes I'd say they haven't used it enough) and technically she was the first to do it in the comics.

Regarding the "Me Too" stuff, I'd say that everything they've done is certainly accurate and well portrayed, but yes they've beaten that horse to death at this point.

I actually think the revenge porn usage was actually well done though and set up an intriguing end to the episode which ties the show back into the overall MCU and sets up an interesting finale.

I also do think that people will like the character much more when she's in the overall universe rather than her own show which has a very distinct style.

Shane Gillis rules. It’s actually a great thing he got fired from SNL because he’s doing way funnier stuff now than SNL

Alaska Daily; nothing original going to happen here. It's either the watchers like the personalities and setting or they don't.

Cunk on Earth:
"Little did the Roman Empire know they were about to come up against their biggest challenge yet, a man of peace. Jesus Christ, street name, 'Son of God.'"

A look at civiliation from the beginning of time. I couldn't pick only one quote to describe it. The war with the cows was enlightening. We hadn't covered that in my classes.

Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) interviews serious academics (I googled to check, not actors) and their keeping straight faces is the fun part for me. Plus some terrific scenery, maybe. Worth it if you can find it. It says BBC-Netflix but it's not on my Netflix.

Finished the last season of "Lost in Space".

Enjoyed the first couple of seasons. This one, not so much. Way too many wild, crazy ideas, mostly with Judy and Maureen. Smith and Will Robinson were both the best part of the show. Wish it was a little more true to the original but they needed to make the social justice themes to make everyone happy.

When Maureen figured out that the robots scanned two bodies and were able to figure out that they were heading for Alpha Centauri.

I never made it past the first couple episodes. It was my understanding this new show was more true to the original intent. Apparently the "social justice themes," didn't make everyone happy. Strange someone would object to social justice? What is meant by that?

We started watching Bel Air tonight.

It’s good but at the same time it’s a bit odd watching a dramatized version of a story you know as a comedy. Especially when your classic “fish out of water” story style is tailor made for comedic beats.

Karen Pirie. Looking for decently ranked detective shows and came across this British one. Eh.. I'm sure I can find better. Got some binge rewatching to do anyhow before final episodes of HotD and RoP. Or I missed the Texas - Oklahoma game, maybe I'll watch that. It had to be good, right?

Just watched episode 8, also thought it was the best one yet! Will we get to eventually see the other Netflix Marvel characters??? Luke Cage, The Punisher???

Reviews say the last scene was hinting at Wolverine. I don't know which characters live and which don't anymore. I thought he was one of the deader ones?

Jessica Jones is rumored. Luke Cage is possible but the actor also has a hit show on CBS. There was a photo awhile back of the Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage actors together on a set.

Punisher I think will be tricky to do in today’s world. I think you’d definitely have to make him an anti-hero or maybe even a villain. You can’t have him come off as a vigilante glorifying gun violence.

There was a Wolverine reference but it was with makeup brushes mimicking his claws as a joke.

Wolverine by Hugh Jackmannis dead, but that’s a different universe and franchise, and also takes place in 2029. Marvel (MCU) currently is around 2024 year wise.
