i wouldnt want to be a college division 3 head coach waiting on the whims on 17 year olds who think they're better than they areSeriously! Going from college to D4 is quite the drop. How much they pay to coach at NC? Sheesh.
This is a very good point!i wouldnt want to be a college division 3 head coach waiting on the whims on 17 year olds who think they're better than they are
Realistically, if he was given a teaching job with years of service and a good coaching salary at NC he MAY have received a bump in pay or at least a lateral move while being closer to home and less hours involved.Seriously! You could apply that statement to every level of basketball, just change the ages.i wouldnt want to be a college division 3 head coach waiting on the whims on 17 year olds who think they're better than they are
He’s a good man. Lives around Newark. He’ll have a chance to win at NC. Probably a lateral move Financially, but probably a better job. Muskingum University, is not a high paying job I'm sure Newark Catholic is not either. He’s a good man. Lives around Newark. He’ll have a chance to win at NC. Probably a lateral move Financially, but probably a better job. Good luck.

Did Van Buren decide to "move the program in a different direction" or did their coach take another job?
It is interesting. Niekamp was there for the last 5 seasons and had some success, especially early on. The last 3 years though they went 21-48 but did finish 3rd in the BVC. Never won a tournament game in 5 seasons. The timing is interesting. Maybe he landed a position elsewhere...like say, Liberty Benton!!!
interesting — have you heard that about the L-B job?
OK, with what I read on here about the L-B situation almost nothing would surprise me. Kind of surprised we haven't heard anything new there for the last 7 days. No, that was in jest.
If this is who I think it is...it's an internal hire. He taught at Vandalia when he was the girl's coach at Tipp. Easy hire with a late opening.Former Tipp girls coach Andy Holderman.
When Coach Gerken stepped down, I thought that Austin Gardner would be an ideal candidate to replace him at L-B. It appears that ship has filed with Austin taking the job at D1 Marietta.
Well, the BVC has been really, really bad the last two years, so 3rd place isn’t saying much. Riverdale won a conference title if that says anything. It is interesting. Maybe the Findlay job will be open in a few years if he wants to come back to NWO.When Coach Gerken stepped down, I thought that Austin Gardner would be an ideal candidate to replace him at L-B. It appears that ship has filed with Austin taking the job at D1 Marietta.
