Great idea and it does make a lot of sense competitively and geographically speaking. Imagine a league with TCC, SJJ, SFS, Whitmer, Pburg & AW...talk about powerhouse across a wide range of sports.
Kick out Perrysburg and AW to add Findlay who's bigger than AW?

Good point. Biggest impact Maumee leaving had on this, you could do Clay & Ross for AW & Perrysburg and really have a perfect setup for years to come. NW Ohio really doesn't have an intermediate league if you will except maybe the SBC Lake division and the NLL is composed of a D1, 3 D2, 3 D3 and a D4. I can't think of another league in the area that spans four divisions, and that spells bad news for the future as now we're going to have if Clay, Ross and Findlay are admitted the league will be 2 D1, 5 D2, 2 D3 & a D4. Puts BG and Napoleon on the clock with no close alternative.
And for those talking about long distance leagues, keep in mind soaring gas prices are going to make this a tougher decision as well with diesel over $3 a gallon currently. School bus gets about 5 MPG so long hauls are going to be costly

NWOAL spans 4 divisions as well, D4-D7. City League might as well.

Good point there but the questions are Findlay was bigger 3 years ago are they now? Where will the numbers be in 10 years?

NBC for now is 4 divisions from D3 Maumee down to D6 Woodmore.
NWOAL is, although the D5 is about to leave and a couple of the rumored replacements are D3. If PH leaves, do we consider D3, D4, D6 to span 4 divisions if there is no D5? That would be weird lol.
As for Napoleon and close alternative....they'd be right in the heart of the NWOAL and if the rumors posted here are right, they'd be midpack in enrollment too. BG is kinda on an island, too small for a redone NLL, too big and an outlier for the NWOAL, and an outlier in the SBC. Way too big for the NBC. They're the ones with the most at stake. They could find worse landing spots than Defiance, Napoleon, Bryan, Wauseon, Archbold if that happens, but it's definitely not ideal.
A lot going to LB and Van Buren though. Especially LB.

Findlay is closing 2 elementary buildings next year and that is not because they are getting bigger.

Findlay's population has remained nearly the same from the 2010 census to the 2019 estimate. It was 41,202 in '10, and the current estimate is 41,225.

You are right about overall population vs school population. Maumee had a bunch of houses built in the 80’s and 90’s south of key street. I would bet a lot of those original owners are still there and their kids are long gone.
BG might be content to be a bottom tier team in the new NLL. The town's identity and boosters with $$$ are tied to the Falcons, not the Bobcats.
The current superintendent was a coach and would not be content with that, but he will not be there forever.
The new NWOAL would be better for travel time and costs than the SBC-Lake. The farthest, Bryan, is only 10 minutes farther away than the closest SBC-Lake school, Clyde, and the new NWOAL will need somebody.
Enrollment-wise the SBC is a better fit, but the travel times are :52 - 1:29.
?That's almost exclusively the reason why Maumee's enrollment has declined so much. Hell, they had to completely reformat the elementary feeder methods because Fairfield would've been getting like 10 students per year in there because of how few schools aged families live there now. Where I grew up was full of kids in grad years 2000-2006....literally every set of parents still live in those houses now, same with most of those 90's builds by Thackeray/Rolf Park area. There is no incentive to move since property values grow at a far lower pace in Maumee and taxes are not prohibitive (yet) for those families.

Was told by a friend with family in the Vanlue district that the kindergarten only had 3 at registration, and two of families are deciding to go else where
Yikes...Carey here they come.
Didn't realize they only had 102 total enrollment in their entire 6-12 building. That's unsustainable.
