20-21 Federal League Basketball

Nice Fed battle at The Fieldhouse. Kobe was red hot all night. Went to the hoop with authority. Brent Walker was a MAN in the lane with 15 and 8. McK defense limited Jax to just one double-digit scorer.

Both teams played with great energy and effort. Sadly the officials would not stay out of the way of the kids. Questionable calls both ways.

Maybe McK can get ranked after 2 double-digit wins over Jax. lol

Tough turnaround in less than 24 hours vs Moeller tomorrow.

The Bulldogs (12-3, 10-0), ranked 11th in the Associated Press Division I State Poll, knocked off No. 3-ranked Jackson (15-2, 7-2) for the second time this season. It’s a nice résumé item going into the weekend’s tournament draw. They can clinch the outright league championship with one more win or one more Jackson loss. Kobe Johnson, as usual, played big when his team needed him most.
He scored 17 points in the first half by getting defenders on his hip and driving to the rim.

Brent Walker, a 6-7 Walsh recruit, totaled 15 points and seven rebounds. The senior's fourth quarter included a nice assist to Johnson for a bucket, a big and-1 finish coming out of a timeout to put McKinley up nine points with 4:30 left and a 4-for-5 performance from the foul line.

That would be Quinn Simmer who had 13 for Green. Shea graduated last year and is now playing baseball at Walsh.

Moeller went 14-for-15 from the foul line and shot 50 percent from the floor. McKinley shot two free throws all game and was whistled for 18 fouls to Moeller’s seven. McKinley also attempted 26 3s to four by Moeller.

Asked about the foul disparity, Vlajkovich said, “I’ll let you write about that.”

The Pups lost the game from Moeller at the foul line.Moeller made 14 out of 15 from line.

Geeeezzzz alot of NBA teams don't shoot that good from the foul line.

McKinley only shot 2 foul shots the entire game. :p

Moeller typically shoots way more free throws than their opponents. They have been doing this for years. They like to work the ball in to the post and take a chance that their big guys will draw a foul. Guys like Bobby Brannen, Andrew Brackman, Josh Duncan, Jackson Hayes and now Logan Duncomb. In listening to the McKinley broadcast on WHBC the announcers were pretty much aware of their history and had little to say about the free throw disparity. Of course making the free throws is what counts and Moeller again showed their ability to knock down the foul shots when it counts. GBM
