What was going to be different later? He RESISTED arrest and struggled with 3 cops. At any point from the time the cops requested that he surrender to the point that he attempted to flee in the vehicle he could have said "ya know, you got me, I'll surrender peacefully". At some point, being stupid is a Darwin-award winning act of defiance, he reached it. They had him then, why wait for later? What was going to change? Do you think the moron that was willing to risk his life and the lives of his kids was going to have an epiphany? Do they wait for later, is a better time when he's going to church, to work, in bed with his GF, after a meal? What later should the cops executing a warrant wait for?
