Wuhan Coronavirus epidemic spreads from China to US

Given that this originated in a Chinese labratory, I think it's very likely it was genetically engineered to target people of non-Asian descent.
This is tin foil hat material, here.

It is patently false that SARS-CoV-2 originated in a Chinese laboratory. I am not disputing that it came from China. It did.

SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and MERS-CoV are all betacoronaviruses. Alpha - and betacoronaviruses are descended from a bat gene pool. While bats are the primary species that are infected, humans, camels, pangolins, and rabbits can also become infected. This new coronavirus has a genome sequence that overwhelmingly shows that it originated in wildlife. If, indeed, someone were to produce a new coronavirus as a potential pathogen to be used as a bioweapon, it would have been derived from a pathogen that is already known to cause an illness - i.e., SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, etc. The genetic backbone of SARS-CoV-2 is vastly different from those other coronaviruses. There is absolutely no eveidence to support the statement that this coronavirus originated in a laboratory.

That said, China is a cesspool of filth and presented ideal conditions for SARS-CoV-2 to be transmitted from a bat to another animal that was then subsequently transferred to a human. This most likely occurred at the fish market in Wuhan. It is becoming glaringly apparent that the Chinese governemnt was aware of the virus long before it was made known to others. They have a lot to answer to.

I honestly don't know how to react to this....and I am not trying to start an argument.

It's not a huge number relative to our total population and we should expect it to go up as we test more people. But most people are also having mild symptoms and will be fine.

I just feel like it's a low number of people with a relatively mild illness.

Am I wrong?

BTW, today's news releases indicate that SARS-CoV-2 does indeed get squashed by UV. I was going to look for your earlier post, but this works, too.

NYC health systems seem to be in dire need of capacity and PPE to treat.

Maybe Germany's health care is just better than the rest of W.E. Interestingly almost 4500 of Italy's deaths out of less than 7000 deaths are located in Northern Italy's Lombardy region.

Lombardy has about 1/6th of Italy's population. In the 50's & 60's they not only had a baby boom, but experienced large numbers of people moving into the region from the southern parts..... add immigration from other countires and you have the recipe for an older segment of the population living there, all very vulnerable to the virus.

Perhaps Gov Cuomo should consult his own "death panel" prioritization list his panel created when he declined to address concerns back in 2015 ?

The SARS Co-V outbreak from 2003 most certainly originated from a live animal market in China. For 17 years since SARS, scientists have been warning that a pandemic from these live animal markets in China was inevitable. The world, including WHO, did nothing about it and here we are. This pandemic was completely preventable.

China knew about this new virus as early as November of 2019 and no later than the first week in December of 2019. They tried to cover it and allowed millions to travel in and out of China spreading it all over the world. China also refused to allow world experts in to help assess and contain the virus, which likely would have made a significant difference. China is not our friend.

There's little debate (and none from me) that this virus originated in bats.

I'm not suggesting the Chinese created the virus in bats. I'm stating the Chinese helped it jump from Bats to Humans, effectively weaponizing it in their Wuhan laboratory.

Bat-on-a-stick in the cafeteria at the lab ?

gtfooh

Progressives really do hate America, and will not fail to use any crisis to push their idiotic socialist agenda. They effectively act as a wing of the CCP on America soil, constantly spreading division, self-loathing, and anti-American propaganda.

The United States, long accustomed to thinking of itself as the best, most efficient, and most technologically advanced society in the world, is about to be proved an unclothed emperor.
