Babe won three state titles. Went to five straight finals. A superb tournament record. A stellar reputation among very high respected people across the area, state, and country. Does he have flaws? Sure, don't we all. The bitterness from a certain poster makes me think this is WAY too personal for him. Did he not play your son? Cost you a job? Marry your high school sweetheart? Embarrass you in a game of one on one? Whatever it is, jealousy doesn't look good on anyone.

Babe will certainly find a big time job again as soon as he wants one. Unfortunately for him, he won't get to coach all his boys at a school that means so much to him.

If Winners Win it must be that Losers Lose.

No one is jealous of Coach Babe. The only folks that are coming to his rescue are those that he has incessantly badgered for support in light of yet another egotistic misstep.

No one feels sorry for him for not being able to coach at VASJ unless you are a competitor and mock him like most do.

No one cares that his tournament record is 48-6.

No one cares that he will get another big time job.

No one is jealous of Coach Babe.

Winners Win. This loser lost.
 
Well things are getting interesting now. Here is the official statement regarding Cervenik’s resignation. Makes you wonder if this has anything to do with the backlash of the news regarding Babe.

There were rumblings about him leaving close to a year ago because he has a sick wife. That being said there has also been rumors of some internal issues that could have led to his decision. I find it a bit curious that he is leaving 3/4 of the way through the school year and directly after dusting VASJs high profile basketball coach. I wonder if people will look into this like they did the departure of Babe. I'm sure ARC could shed some light on it since he has a direct feed to the administration. Who becomes President now ? Does Elvis add another position to his resume ? I'm sure ARC will enlighten us. Maybe he can sit with me and we can chat at the Mentor vs Brush game tonight - I will buy you a booster dog.

The only way that this resignation is connected to the dismissal of the ex coach would be if it WAS HIS AND HIS DECISION ALONE to terminate that coach. Against the advise of the administration. That would imply that the coaching wrongdoing would warrant a slap on the wrist but not be so egregious as to lose ones job. Thus under the ensuing hand wringing,teeth gnashing,and pacing of the floors within VASJ, he would step down due to the backlash resulting from the very public escort given by the police to Babe ( in order to remove him from the building) ,and heavy handed treatment of what amounts to a family that sits on the Mount Rushmore of St. Joseph/VASJ history. OR....... he was going to retire anyway with Elvis ascending to his throne as planned. This narrative has been floating around influential alumni before the events of insubordination that befell the coach ,and led to the hammer of swift and unforgiving justice to be handed down. The scales of justice are cruel⚖

Current administrators followed twitter accounts and fed intel to this faction of infidels ? Those in the uprising of rogue alumni then used this intel to badger, harass, and bully this coach.? So this was an inside job of administrators who had it in for the coach and let the band of infidels do their dirty work for them? This sounds remarkably like what Trump deals with daily in trying to drain the swamp and eliminate the deep state underbelly that leaks false narratives to the media. Like the Mafia Capo that will hug you in a show of loyalty to his family while giving the soldiers a signal behind your back to eliminate you .??

Pretty low to bring up a man’s personal family situation. Not surprising from you and since no one really believes any of your posts it will probably go unnoticed but low none the less.

Now, since you brought it up the outgoing president was the subject of a despicable smear campaign by the recently contumelious Coach Babe. The only thing the outgoing president is guilty of is being too forgiving and allowing Coach Babe repeated opportunities despite his radical behavior. If you’d like me to recap those indiscretions yet another time I’d be happy to but let’s just agree that you and Mug were dead wrong on this and move along. For everyone’s benefit.
 
If the whole thing about him allowing a suspended player to be on the bench even after an administrator told him he couldn’t be in the school, that’s grounds for dismissal right there. When you’re suspended from school, it’s black and white that includes all school related activities. Kwasniak was there for 10 years, I guarantee this wasn’t the first instance about a kid being suspended. He could have put the school in serious jeopardy right there.

Like you said before where there is smoke there is fire. I'm sure the full reason why he left will come out since the information leaks out of this administration like a sive. I just want the same transparency that was given to others that have been removed - Minadeo, Royer and Kwasniak. That is not to much to ask is it. If there were some underlying reasons like those that were rumored it should be made public. Maybe there is nothing out there and he is just retiring - then again maybe there is more.

As for me not being believable - everybody knows who the biggest BSer is on this site. You did not get dubbed Village Idiot by accident - it was earned. The site was so nice when you did not post for awhile.

Excellent analysis. I wouldnt say it was coordinated, just mutual hatred of coach by the Mean Girls and lazy administrators (deep state) factions. In the case of at least one or two administrators, whether consciously or subconsciously, their actions undermined and damaged the team and they were the leakers to the Mean Girls.

Serious jeopardy? Do you mean like the serious jeopardy from the week prior where the administration approved a suspended kid to sit in the stands behind the team in his suit and tie to watch his teammates play? You dont think that wasnt also punishment and a learning lesson? They authorized it the week prior, why wouldnt the coach think the same situation applied?

For the record, the student in question wasnt on the bench. The student was in his suit and tie in the bleachers behind the JV bench before the varsity game began and no he did not participate in or attend practices.

Everything seems to be tight lipped. I’m just as curious as who’s on the list of candidates to be interviewed. If I had a guess and from the last coaching search, it probably won’t be until April that we find out.
 
To add on from the post above, I just have a hunch that Ashen Ward could be the next coach for the Vikings, and I feel would be a great fit for the school and program, as he’s respected, basketball players, current, and incoming would love playing for him and continuing the long success that’s been instilled in the program for years dating back to the Red Baron and keeping that mentor role in place for the kids.

The only thing I can see though is him wanting to stay at Orange as that’s where his wife teaches, and pay is (obviously better) at Orange. We shall see what happens but that’s just a gut feeling I have with the coaching search.

Hope you are right - that is who I would like to see as well. I also heard Orange pays double what VASJ does to coach.

I believe he’s also a teacher at Orange as well. They would probably also offer a teaching position as well unless he decides to stay at Orange as a teacher. Will see. But Ash would be my guy to go get.
 
I added a poll just for fun to see who people would like to see get the job, and added all realistic choices and key connections. Anything is possible and who knows, the next coach could be someone we haven’t even thought of yet.

We don’t know exactly how this will go, that goes with any hire/firing. This will be Elvis’ first major coach search, we shall see how he does. Seemed he did fine with the new volleyball coach hire who was qualified and had stints as a college assistant coach. Judge will be out for sure. As the old saying goes, time will tell.
