Canton Rep reports OHSAA denied eligibility....
I think OHSAA will overturn after the appeal. Let the kids play!!!The independent lawyers who looked at it thought very differently Doc... and this is far from over from what was said in the article. The OHSAA knows that this would open a pandora's box of 'my coach is "abusive"' transfer requests so the fact they denied it initially isn't surprising.
My question is simple. If the coach was so bad their freshman year ,which was stated in court, why as parents would you allow your daughters to be submitted to the bullying and harassment for three years??
The ONLY reason it was sooooo bad is the one father was no way going to get to be on the coaching staff again after messy divorce proceedings turned him into a drunken mess. Then the daughter was being removed from point guard for a better player. The father turned this into nothing more than a witch hunt and the other two blind sheep followed. You could go to WHBC website and search where than less than a year ago one of the players that transferred was lauding Paul on how tough he was and he was the greatest coach and they were very blessed to have him as their coach and how lucky Glenoak was to have him. Don’t be fooled by other posters propaganda. So it was so bad on so many levels, yet the majority stayed. So we are to presume that they are gluttons for punishment, stuck in some dysfunctional cycle leaving them so abused and damaged they can't find a way out. That's pretty insulting to the kids who stayed and their parents.
The question still unanswered - if it was so bad, why did it take 3 years in some cases for the parents and kids to move?
Mr General-Don’t know anything about that situation. Im sticking to the facts of which I know very well about the case going on now.My personal experience with Wackerly was from back in the late 90's when he was at Hoover and Wooster's girls were steamrolling the FL every year. He brought in 2-3 transfers only to get beat by Wooster 3 times in 1998/99. He shows up for the District Championship game between Wooster/Massillon and sits on the Wooster side, and continuously throughout the game got up to cheer heavily for Massillon. His comments were cocky/arrogant and intended to start a situation that wasn't needed. I also was at a Hoover game where his PG (from Alliance), got ejected for repeatedly kicking a girl on the other team in the stomach repeatedly. He stood up in the coaching box and clapped. Dude has always rubbed me as being a jerk and antagonizer.
