Here's the current tops of Ohio HS hammer throwing so far. In the girls' list, the first # on the left represents the athlete's all-time ranking spot in Ohio. I've got a list of 40 names so far over 40m (131' 3"). On the boys' side, I'm still compiling & collating, so I've left that information off where it is not known.

Note: With regard to Zimmerman's 187' 4" mark at the Warhawk Invite, it was with a 12 lb hammer, not a 16 lb hammer as the results indicate.

Do you have the overall ranking for the boys? Only the top guy's rank, 5th, is there. And did Cornathan throw farther at aonther meet? Thanks.

I'm still working on the boys' lists. Will be coming sometime later in June, then update both boys & girls after the summer season.

Thank you. I am very appreciative of what you have shared. I was not trying to rush you. I saw a rank of 5th for Fertig and thought the others had been accidentally cut off in the cut and paste process.

No problems, Mate. I'm glad to be able to do the research and provide it, and I also appreciate all genuine feedback. I look forward to bringing these lists and others as my schedule permits.
 
I had a couple hours this afternoon to finish researching a lot of data to bring my list up-to-date. Attached you'll find all the 160-foot plus boys' hammer throwers in Ohio history that I have through 2019. I consider this a 98% complete listing as it's possible I've missed a couple. While I haven't finished filling out all the details, I have listed the basic listing showing 70 throwers have exceeded 160 feet to date. Highlighted in GREEN are updates in 2019. The only thrower I don't have the data for is #38 Jake Maloy (Centerville) who is listed on Centerville's all-time lists, but I didn't find him on the 2005 Gourley lists. If anyone from Centerville can provide the meet & date for the 2005 meet at which that took place, feel free to send it along for confirmation of the information!

Anyway, this & the girls' list will be updated at the end of the summer.


P.S. - 53.92m (176' 11") is Maloy's entry mark into the 2005 Junior Nationals (Carson, CA) - http://www.usatf.org/events/2005/USAJuniorOutdoorTFChampionships/startLists/day3.asp ; so, I feel confident about his mark having validity.

One addition has been made to the list - Travis Woleslagle 164' 6" from 2004. I missed that earlier.

Additionally, I've added the current yearly leaders going back to 2001, and also some yearly bests ranging from 1888 to 1916 based on current research. Those earlier marks are a combination of Craig Whitemore's research and also mine. Thought it might interest the hammer throwing community. Research will continue in the future.
 
Thanks for the list. I was talking to a friend who knows the family of the Darby thrower. He asked if the boy would rank in Ohio's top 50 ever and I guessed it would be close. He is 50th. Thanks again for the information. I have passed it along.

Thanks. I already logged the changes earlier this week, but have been working so much I haven't remembered to post them here. I'm going to wait till after nationals next weekend before posting updates, then I'll do so with a more complete men's listing along with the women's later this summer when all the JO's are in.
 
Attached is an updated Girls' All-Time Ohio list thru Nationals. 2019 additions/updates are in GREEN. Addison Hoover moved up one spot from earlier this year and is now #10 all-time with her Nationals performance. Katie Roush moved from 40th to 30th all-time at the Ohio champs two weeks ago.

Will produce a final 2019 list later this summer after all the JO & other meets.

Updated boys' list thru nationals to come this weekend.
