Does this tarnish Lebron's Legacy?

His propensity of getting coaches fired will tarnish it more than this.

8 consecutive Finals appearances is pretty impressive.

The drama and circus that he brings to a team/organization is really just the price of doing business. As a Cavs fan, I have to say that price was worth every penny.

Kind of interesting on ESPN today, they were talking about whether this season was a failure yet. Max Kellerman argued that if the Lakers can sneak into the 8th spot and take one game from Golden State, it would be a success. Talk about lowered expectations.

Also found it interesting that they say the Lakers have no talent outside of Lebron. Last couple of years, they were emerging with talented young players. Now they are all nobodys.

At some point, Magic has to face the music.

Other then Anthony Davis, I have heard most star players are not interesting in joining that team.
 
The Lakers have become the "other" LA team.

I find this so amusing. LeBron just wrecks the locker rooms of any team he goes to, and it's even better that Magic is involved.
So what do they do now? They've pretty much told their young guys they are picking LeBron over them. LeBron doesn't want to play with them. Would LeBron leave LA??
 
Anyone notice the stats on Lonzo being kne of the best defenders in the game? Honestly surprised by his defense, considering he wasn't very good at stopping the ball in college
 
Feb 24th 2019 and the Lakers are the 10 seed in the West and now 3.5 games out of the 8 seed (they were 2.5 on Feb 7). :D

Yea, especially since LaVar said last year that the Lakers would be winning championships in a few years, and that was before LeBron showed up. What a baffoon.
 
LeBum questions his team commitment but was recently at a rap groups recording studio doing songs after midnight and then didn't play the next day vs the Warriors due to "load management".

The HC didn't even know he wasn't going to play until an hour or so before the game.

Yeah, he has his commitments in place doesn't he.
 
Seems even some of the ESPN talking heads are turning a little on LeBron.

It will be curious to see how long the Lakers fans accept the mediocrity from this team. The blame may be spread around for a while but if they don't right the ship, the blame will start to fall squarely on LeBron's shoulders.
 
Cant wait for LeBron to buy a team and manage it. He will inevitably fail bc he cant judge talent. Every roster move he has made has been a failure.
 
The Lakers are 29-31 this time last year they were 10 games under .500 this they're 2 games under 3 games out the 8 spot with 22 games left. It's not like they're 3 out with 2 games left. They'll be fine they miss Ball, ALOT! They'll be ok! The goal was to finish in the 8th spot this year.
 
The goal was to compete for a Western Conference title. The Laker fans that went to buy there season tickets after Lebron was signed have to be disappointed.

Same with Jordan, same with Magic, same with Isiah Thomas. Good players don't necessarily make good managers.
 
The Anthony Davis seduction tremendously damaged this team, and essentially sent the message that the young guys aren't good enough for LeBron. As of late LeBron has seemed to be very disengaged and his effort has been incredibly poor at times.

After dropping 6 of their last 9, the Lakers are 3 games back with 21 games left. They have a bunch of games left against probable playoff teams, especially likely higher seeds. IMO the wheels have fallen off the bus and they're not making the playoffs this year. Regardless of gaining "stars", they've screwed up the chemistry so badly already they'll have to move some of the young guys in the off-season. LeBron needs to do some serious soul searching and decide whether or not he wants to be a contender for a few more years or a Hollywood star.

Their last 10 games are especially bad. Almost everyone they play down the stretch is a surefire or borderline playoff team that likely will be playing for something. They have to close their gap in the standings over the next few weeks as their schedule makes it far more likely they'll give a game or two rather than gain ground at the end.

No it was not. They knew they did not have a roster to make the conference finals this season. They haven't made the playoffs in 5 years. The main goal was to qualify for the playoffs, further develop the young guys, get better defensively and integrate the young guys with LeBron. They actually were ahead of schedule until the injuries happened so essentially they're back on schedule. They'll be fine.

LeBron ruined two franchises in one season. That's quite a legacy to leave. LeBron doesn't do young guys. He didn't in Cleveland. Other than Kyrie, he doesn't like having young players around to learn their mistakes. He brought in Rondo, Chandler, McGee and Stephenson and that didn't work. He threw they young guys under the bus so now he's got a mess in LA. I think the big question about LeBron is how many titles could he had won if he just worried about playing the game instead of managing the teams he's on.
 
I see you guys have been spun by the media as well. That was absolutely the goal this year for the Lakers. Not to make the Western Conference Finals but to make the playoffs the conference finals would have been a bonus. Was it possible yes, likely no. In the history of the NBA there has never been a team to make the conference Finals after a 5-year absence from the playoffs. That doesn't even make sense. This isn't college.
 
No, Lebron's legacy will not be tarnished. MJ left to play baseball (most think it was due to a gambling issue the NBA frowned on), then played as a shadow of himself the last couple years and his legacy is fine. Same with Kobe finishing on bad teams with Kobe making top dollar even though his production had fallen. Lebron loves him some Lebron for sure and you know missing the playoffs will be killing him as he will have to watch all those other superstars get the love on espn. This LA story going forward will be interesting....who do they get this summer?
 
There's a 100% chance the Lakers thought they were making the playoffs and winning a series or two this year with LeBron, their young guys and the retreads they brought in. There's no way they expected to have a man who's on the clock with father time sitting at home this post-season at age 34.
